The Service Product Manager (SPM) is responsible for ensuring serviceability of their assigned products during the development, release and sustaining phases of a product. Pre-release, the SPM will define and facilitate rapid development of products that meet all install and serviceability targets by coordinating the efforts of the Training, Information Development, Technical Support, Logistics and Global Field Service (Support) organizations and acting as the single point of contact for the Project Team. Post-release, the primary focus will be on driving continuous improvements on assigned products by providing a thorough business case based analysis to internal organizations based on feedback from the field organization, data monitoring and trend analysis.

This position requires:

? Solid project management skills to effectively lead and direct team members to successfully achieve desired goals and objectives in timely manner.
? Skilled at articulating Service/Support requirements in a business case format, based on complex data (or data projections) and its impact to Warranty, Install and Contract Costs.
? Effective communication/relationship skills to create and maintain sound relationships with project team members and negotiate with internal departments to a win-win solution.
? Strong presentation skills to deliver effective presentations for internal and/or customer training sessions.
? Strong business skills to identify strategy for assigned product lines.
? Strong organization skills to allow balancing of many priorities and goals.
? Solid interpersonal and leadership skills to effectively lead teams in the investigation of real or potential problems and development of action plans to resolve them.
? Extensive understanding of statistical failure/trend analysis for product quality and parts forecasting
? Fundamental understanding of financial implications resulting from personal actions or actions of others in the department
? Technical competence to understand products and interact with technical groups
? Basic understanding of the service business environment and the differences in regional service drivers
? BA/BS in Science or Engineering, including coursework in Chemistry or Electronics or equivalent experience
? Requires a minimum of 5 years experience in field service or technical support of ABD or related analytical instruments or similar products
? At least two years as a Specialist (preferably with biotech instrumentation) or equivalent experience is required
? Experience working with product teams and field service organizations in a project leadership capacity
