Six Sigma Black Belt

Lenawee Stamping Corporation, a Tier I Automotive Supplier of metal stampings, has an opportunity for a Six Sigma Black Belt in our Tecumseh, Michigan facility.

 

The Six Sigma Black Belt will be responsible for leading and directing the Lean Manufacturing Six Sigma efforts and establishing a culture of continual improvement within the organization.  The Black Belt will be responsible for processing and driving total cost out by collecting and analyzing quality measurements.

 

Specific Duties include:

- Providing leadership and training to all levels in lean tools such as 5S, Value Stream Mapping, Kan Ban, etc.  Applies Six Sigma tools and techniques to measure, analyze, improve and control project processes.

- Coordinates and drives functional excellence efforts; standardization of approach and of operating mechanism, driving a high level of visibility and accountability around Lean initiatives and Six Sigma driven projects.

- Responsible for implementing process controls that deliver reduced variability and increased customer satisfaction.

- Leads cross-functional process improvement projects and oversees project teams, project plans, time lines, budgets and results.  Facilitates teams to drive breakthrough or best-in-class performance in People, Quality, Material Flow and Cost.

- Prepares detailed plans to track project performance and assures timely completion and achievement of quality and savings goals.

- Identifies barriers to project success and solicits help from champions when needed.

- Documents improvement process learning and benchmarks LSC processes against relevant competitors or best in class industries.  Key facilitator in best practice sharing.

- Identifies and brings forward to champions new project opportunities.  Accepts accountability for impact on Operational Cost.

 

Qualified candidates will possess a 4 year degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a relevant technical/engineering degree; hold 5 plus years experience in Lean Manufacturing including implementation (TPS or similar), display a successful track record for leading projects, attaining goals and documenting/measuring results.  Previous experience in a machining, assembly and/or metal fabrication/stamping environment preferred.
