The Software/Hardware Automation Engineer for our Proteomics Department is responsible for working with computer coding languages to develop existing systems by analyzing and identifying areas for modification, as well as designing, writing and testing new software and hardware programs. This position requires a creative individual with the ability to design, test, implement and maintain instruments software systems to meet customer needs.
This position will create technical specifications and test plans. Develop and execute verification and validation protocols. Investigate and solve software/hardware issues defects with products. Must have the ability to identify software problems relating to product design and implement solutions in a timely and cost effective manner. Perform design transfer tasks as needed to ensure new software/hardware is correctly implemented for product release. Ensure that ISO 9000 and QSR procedures are met by following source control and defect tracking procedures.
The ideal candidate will be required to properly maintain computer equipment used in the design and testing of software/hardware. Extensive and frequent contact with Quality, Marketing, and Customer Solution Center. Will be required to work in an office environment and engineering lab 90% of the time. Occasional travel is required.
BS in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering, or equivalent work experience. Ten years experience as a software engineer in a design/production environment or equivalent.
