The Mission Ownership and Analysis Directorate (MOAD) is made up of several disciplines whose main objective is to influence hardware and systems early in their life cycle to assure effective operation, reliability, maintainability and economical ownership by the customer and end user. Additionally, MOAD is responsible for providing both local and field level support for globally fielded system.


Software Developer and Cost Engineer I ?

This position initially develops software GUIs for dynamic modeling interfaces with existing cost estimating data bases and models. Developed dynamic models provide decision makers to easily understand and conduct trade off analyses for potential design changes. Upon completion of these tasks, the software developer will receive the requisite training to perform duties as a software and/or hardware cost estimator. Cost Engineers interface with both internal and external customers as well as attend and brief working groups, Program Design Reviews, and Technical Interface Meetings.


Basic Qualifications

- B.S. degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or Finance with a strong emphasis on dynamic modeling and application interfaces

- GPA of 3.0 or higher


Desired Qualifications

- Strong analytical skills


- Customer focus and collaboration skills

- Excellent written and oral communication skills; knowledge of MS Office or other presentation tools


- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and mechanical drawings



- Competency in MS Office Word and Powerpoint with an above average competency in Excel with particular emphasis on modeling and workbook development.

- Experience with dynamic modeling software authoring

- Prepare presentations and brief personnel.

- Possess previous internship or co-op with a defense contractor and/or government agency.

- Knowledge of government acquisition procedures including various appropriations, work breakdown structure, etc.

- Ability to influence product design through CAIV studies and cost reduction initiatives

- Review financial documentation for accuracy and completeness.

- Identify concerns, suggest solutions, and follow through to closure.

- Use various cost engineering database applications (SEER, ACE-IT, PRICE, etc).

- Prior military service operating and/or maintaining various defense systems.
