A Software Development - Project Engineer will work in the Engineering Division developing PC, PDA, Web or other target applications for professional audio products. This is a product development position. responsible for defining the architecture and design of software applications, and for executing that design by providing technical and project leadership to a team of software engineers.

' Negotiate and refine functional requirements with marketing and system engineering. Ensuring that the engineering team has enough information to design the software application.
' Design and model software applications (Windows and other platforms) using UML, use cases, and other design tools/languages.
' Oversee the application architecture for a product, ensuring that the application integrates with the other parts of the system
' Work as part of a cross-functional development team to design and implement cutting edge audio products or technology
' Estimate, organize and document tasks for own work as well as the work of other team members.
' Works with the functional manager to ensure that project teams are appropriately staffed by engineers with the appropriate skill sets.
' Works with the department manager to ensure that sound software development processes are defined, refined, and used in practice by department members.
' Review the designs and code developed by peers
' Mentor junior (entry-level) and senior (experienced) staff members
' Other duties as assigned

' BS degree in Computer Science or related area
' Minimum 8 years of related experience designing software applications for Windows or other platforms, including experience with the relevant tools and technologies (examples are: Visual C++, MFC/COM/ATL, ActiveX, C++, C, C#, .NET, Java, Qt, etc)
' Strongly desire exposure to embedded application development as well as PC/client application development.
' Minimum 5 years of experience in complex application design or architecture
' Minimum 3 years experience working in medium and large software team environments (teams larger than 5).
' Minimum 5 years of experience with Object Oriented Analysis and Design, preferably using UML, and preferably including experience applying Design Patterns to problems.
' Minimum 5 years of experience writing test plans and test cases, especially in Unit Testing
' Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills
' Ability to work effectively within a team environment
' Quality consciousness
' Experience using and knowledge of formal software development methodologies
' Specific experience mentoring and guiding the technical development of less senior engineers.
