Software Engineer (1836)

Linthicum, MD (Baltimore area)

 

Responsibilities:

 

Complete design, test and integration of embedded software for a cutting edge satellite communications and high assurance security system. Software will be written in C/C++ and run on various real time operating systems. Up to 25% travel. 

 

Requirements:

BS in Engineering, Computer Science, Math, or Physics and 4-6 years experience is required.  Candidate must understand system level communications and networking requirements. Hands on experience on embedded operating systems-VxWorks. Working knowledge of Linux including knowledge of network stack essential. Hands on experience desirable to lead integration of hardware and software. Be comfortable with active debugging of software on new hardware. Be creative and efficient in determining what the problems are and lead the team effectively during integration. Quickly set up systems for making builds during integration, and test systems with required tools for integration. Configuration of tools like analyzers, source level debuggers, traffic generators required. Product design, implementation, and testing are required. Good design documentation discipline is necessary. Type 1 security experience is very desirable. Successful candidate will be personable, able to work in teams and interface directly with customers. U.S citizenship required.  Active Secret clearance or the ability to obtain one within a reasonable time is necessary.
