Software Engineer - EMS

Entrisphere makes the premier telecom access system for the Triple Play network with a current focus on North America. Our goal is to make data and video services as simple and cost effective to deploy and manage as voice is today. Our team has developed the BLM 1500 which adds fiber and packet capabilities to traditional Next Generation Digital Loop Carrier functions and EntriView which manages the BLM 1500. The result is the right platform for migrating from today's TDM network to the IP network of the future. Our customers are deploying both products to deliver Triple Play services over legacy networks, over PON and over packet-voice broadband networks. Position Summary:

Entrisphere is building the next generation carrier class access networks and is seeking motivated software engineers to join our Element Management System (EMS) software team. EntriView is Entrisphere?s Element Management System for managing our flagship BLM1500 family of Multiservice Access and PON devices, including OLTs and ONTs.  EntriView has been in development for more than four years and has been successfully deployed and hailed as one of the better EMSs out there.  It has a client server architecture with the client written in Java and Swing with some XML metadata to store form information.  The servers are written in C, C++ and Java, with more Java work being done lately.  Interprocess and client-server communication is done using CORBA, which is also available as a Northbound interface. 

 

The positions require experience designing and developing client-server, distributed and object-oriented applications using Java, C++ and CORBA.  Responsibilities include implementation of new roadmap features and for evolving the existing feature set.   EMS Software engineers also provide training, documentation input and support to System Test, Customer Support and Technical Publication departments.  Qualified candidates will have experience in the complete software development lifecycle from specification to delivery. 

 

Required Skills and Experience:

-  Requires a BSEE or BSCS

-  2 to 5 years of software development experience

-  Hands on development experience in the following areas:Programming in Java, C/C++ Client-server, distributed computing using CORBA GUI development using Java, Swing

 

Optional (desirable but not essential) Skills and Experience:

-  EMS/NMS development experience in any functional areas (Fault, Configuration, Security, Performance)

-  TAO and/or JacORB experience

-  Oracle database programming, redundancy or tuning experience
