 Description

We are looking for a Software Engineer to join our highly talented Product Developemnt team in Columbia, Maryland. We are looking for individuals with experience in developing software products, within a fast paced, commercial product development environment.



The Software Engineer II will be a mid-level snort developer who will be expected to:
Work with senior engineers to design and develop new features for upcoming snort releases.
perform maintenance work on existing functionality.
Interact with Sourcefire development and Operations.

Individuals must work well in a team environment, be highly motivated, and willing to learn new skills. Experience in a fast paced startup environment is highly desired.

 Required Skills

B.S. in science or computer science
3-5 years development experience with C/C++ as the primary language.
experience with make and Linux or Unix build systems, - make
automake/autoconf.some bash scripting experience.some network sockets based programming experience.



In addition, the following skills are desired:
intrusion detection or firewall software development a plus.
some application protocol development experience a plus (http or smtp or
dns etc..)

 Required Experience
