Software Engineer- Informatics Software Development

Purpose:

Cellomics Inc. is a wholly owned subsidiary of Fisher Scientific International located in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania that provides sophisticated software and instrumentation combined with biology solutions for the pharmaceutical industry to facilitate the process of new drug discovery.  The purpose of this position is to become part of the software engineering team in the development of cutting edge informatics software.

 

Position Responsibilities:

?  Develop high quality code following an Agile development process

?  Write comprehensive documents for a gated product development lifecycle

?  Create detailed task lists and realistic time schedules for specific tasks as per an iteration plan

?  Write unit tests while developing code and coordinate with testing to prepare comprehensive test plans

?  Provides technical resource material for product and user documentation to technical writers

?  Provide level 3 support for customer service and interact with customers directly on a professional basis

?  Understands and adheres to all QA and safety requirements

?  Other duties as assigned

 

 

Qualifications:

?  BS Computer Science or Electrical Engineering

?  2-3 years software development experience or advance degree in relevant field

?  Above average programming skills, .Net C# or C++ required

?  Experience with distributed applications, web services, transactional systems a plus

?  Extensive knowledge of development tools, languages, databases and networking a plus

?  Familiarity with the field of image processing a plus

?  Excellent organizational ability, verbal and written communication skills

?  Interpersonal skills and capability to work as a member of a work team

?  Experience with automation equipment or instrumentation a plus
