Software Engineer - .NET

Join a dynamic group in the E-Commerce technology team working on cutting edge .NET development to provide ecommerce solutions for the West Education Group.

 

Primary responsibilities will be with the lawschool.westlaw.com web application ? the virtual law school community where law students and faculty can access a variety of legal resources including Westlaw, The West Education Network (TWEN), current legal news, and career services.  The system supports and serves hundreds of thousands of law students and faculty members with their legal educational needs.  The candidate will work with a highly skilled team to deliver front to back solutions for the business.  This includes developing code to implement new business ideas from database to business logic and user interface modules.

 

Primary Responsibilities:Solve complex problems independently Collaborate with other departments in troubleshooting and correcting system configuration problems Acquire and maintain additional technical skills for professional development Communicate in a professional manner with staff, peers, senior staff, and internal or external customers A demonstrated ability to learn new technologies, processes and systems quickly is desired Produce and maintain technical and business documentation for assigned tasks and projects Innovative problem solving, data analysis, design and testing skills Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment and to balance independent work as well as working with others
Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor?s degree in Computer Science or related degree Strong problem solving, analysis, design, and testing skills Good understanding of Object Oriented development and design Effective verbal and written communication and presentation skills Quick learner, eager to leverage new technologies in a dynamic team environment

 

Preferred Qualifications

 Knowledge of IIS and .NET architecture Experience with C# and .NET technologies including ASP and ASP.NET Expertise using Enterprise Library Experience with relational databases such as MSSQL Server 2+ years experience using Javascript, HTML, and XML. Ability to consume and create Webservices Experience with other OO languages such as Java Knowledge of unit testing such NUnit 1+ years of experience with multi-tier application design and development and knowledge of design patterns SQL 2005 Experience with Reporting Services
