Hands-on technical and managerial role with responsibilities providing technical leadership in product development and design in addition to direct management of the software resources executing those projects. Position is based in Santa Barbara and reports to the Director of Engineering.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Lead a small, dynamic, development team to specify, design, develop, and debug motion control software. You will implement innovative new features and help define product direction, extend existing features, and maintain an existing code base. Responsibilities also include management of a 5-10 person team, mentoring and developing your team on a day-to-day basis, including staffing / retention issues and performance management. Interaction with customers and applications engineers is expected to understand feature requirements and make appropriate product direction decisions. Supporting customers and staff to fix field reported problems is required.
QUALIFICATIONS:
BS in Computer Science or equivalent. Strong C/C++ programming skills. Knowledge of multi-threaded real-time environments and embedded device programming. 5~7 years experience in software design and development. Good communication and people management skills a must. Leadership roles in team SW development projects with proven results. Knowledge of motion control, I/O devices, and networks is a plus.
