Flow International Corporation (Flow), the inventor of abrasive waterjet technology, is the world leader in the development and manufacture of ultrahigh-pressure (UHP) waterjet systems.  Operating in 14 countries and with over 800 employees, nearly 60% of all waterjet systems sold in the world are made by Flow. Our UHP technology is used for pure and abrasive waterjet cutting, surface preparation, and food processing applications.  We currently have an opening in Kent, WA for a Software Test Engineer.

The Software Test Engineer is responsible for designing, planning and executing test programs for Flow?s standard software products. Duties include assisting in development of software product specifications; directing the efforts of the software QA team and conducting extensive QA of software products; hands-on testing of complete software / hardware systems; produce software installation routines and user documentation; design and conduct customer and Technical Service training programs; frequent interaction with internal and external customers.

 

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor degree in Engineering and a minimum of (3) three years software engineering / testing experience in a manufacturing environment; minimum of two (2) years experience in the development of computer software systems or minimum of two (2) years experience applying principles and techniques of computer science and engineering for industrial applications.  Additional requirements include intermediate level of Word, Excel and Windows skills;  familiarity with C++, MS Source Safe, WISE and IBM Rational Manual Tester highly desired;  a professional demeanor; ability to work independently as well as function in a team environment; strong interpersonal skills to work effectively with others, solicit input, motivate associates and elicit work output; excellent verbal and written communication skills; proven supervisory experience with a multi-discipline team; ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities; ability to quickly learn Flow products; ability to travel on short notice to lend technical support if required.
