Software Test Engineering Manager

Role BREW Test Manager responsible for QIS BREW Client, Server and System Validation. This involves the following key responsibilities:

Coordination of projects, schedules and staff across device and server product releases to include professional services engagements.

Interact with cross functional product management, engineering and business leads in coordination of Test & Validation projects.

Lead QIS BREW System Test in conjunction with QIS BREW Systems Engineering, which involves coordination of device and server testing across multiple QUALCOMM divisions and internationally located engineering teams.

Engage third party partners, as appropriate, to augment test efforts and capacity.

Evolve the test & validation methodology on a continual basis to improve the efficiency of the product and services test approach in order to improve the time-to-market while retaining high quality deliverables.

Provide Management Reporting on status to Test & Validation projects, risks and risk mitigation plans.

Recruit staff into the organization, as appropriate.

Skills/Experience
A minimum of ten plus years of experience managing Test & Validation teams responsible for beta and commercial validation of major and minor software releases.

Experience validating software products and services for mobile devices using distributed backend architectures to include web services, databases, security components, directory services, transaction processing and billing/CRM services.

Experience engaging customers and/or third parties in augmenting test efforts to verify functional usability and stability of software products and services prior to commercial release.

Additional Skills
Technical Knowledge in: Java, XML, Web applications architecture, Oracle RDBMS, C/C++, OOP, Tools and/or Automation development.

A minimum of ten plus years testing/debugging complex Java and web applications on Unix/Linux platforms and software applications on Windows with C++.

Experience with BREW, BREW SDK, Security, ARM, Perl, TCP/IP, and UI Design a plus.

Experience managing test teams across international locations, a plus.

Education Requirements
Bachelor's/Master's Degree in Computer Science or Engineering.
