Microstaq designs, develops and manufactures high-performance MEMS (micro electro-mechanical systems) silicon valve systems capable of operating in normal to extreme flow control environments. Founded in 2000 to bring advanced technology to the flow control world, Microstaq is a MEMS-based engineering company dedicated to developing and marketing micro-valve technology solutions to solve real world flow control problems. The Microstaq valve technology allows flexible integration of system sensing and associated electronics for compact, closed-loop intelligent control.


The Position

Location:

The Company is located in Bellingham, WA. The selected candidate could be located in the Seattle/Bellingham area, or in the Midwestern US.

Primary Activities:

? Modify and create:
o 3D models optimized for simulation (CFD, FEA, kinematics, etc.).
o configurations that show manufacturing process detail.
o templates (3D and 2D).

? Assist in product design, development, and manufacture.


The Candidate

Experience:

? 2+ years experience in design documentation.

? PDM Works experience

? Silicon wafer mask layout experience helpful

? Experience creating 3D designs in SolidWorks

? A demonstrated track record of accurate, complete solid models and drawings

Key Characteristics/Skills/Qualifications:

? Have a strong understanding of :
o datum based design and GD&T
o materials (steel, aluminum, silicon, rubber, plastic, etc.)
o force, stress, and strain
o change control

? Able to communicate effectively and thoroughly
o document design intent through design relationships, SolidWorks feature manager, and/or summary report

? quickly learn related acronyms, terms, and descriptions

? Resourceful ? can adapt to rapidly changing development environment.

? An entrepreneurial self starter ? capable and willing to contribute to the company?s success

? A team player with strong interpersonal skills

? The highest level of personal and professional integrity

Educational Background:

2 yr post-secondary degree or higher.
