Sr. Camera Systems Engineer

In this highly visible role, you will support various aspects of CMOS image sensor camera technology including product definition and system architecture for reference designs, demo systems, and development platforms.  Candidates need to be able to quickly come up to speed on existing designs and have enough initiative to propose new projects.  Experience going through full board and FPGA development cycles including concept, specification, design, layout support, bring-up, debug, documentation, and product support is required. 




Typically requires 8+ years of relevant design experience.
Experience with digital camera based reference designs, demo systems, and development platforms.  Must have experience with customer oriented system architecture based on low cost, high performance, and targeted functionality.  Candidate will be expected to interface with internal and external customers to develop project requirements.  Strong problem-solving, project planning, and communication skills are a must. Consumer electronics background highly preferred.


System level knowledge must include most of the following: CMOS image sensor integration, image processor selection and firmware development, optics selection, board level digital and analog design, FPGA design, LCD integration, memory controller development, storage media integration, Xenon flash/LED, portable power design, USB 2.0, Ethernet, 802.11g, unregulated wireless, powerline modem.
 
In addition, experience with high speed board design techniques with special emphasis on signal integrity and EMI is required.  Experience taking design through standards qualification is a plus.


Hands-on system level lab debug is mandatory. 
Familiar with lab equipment: Oscilloscopes, Logic Analyzers, TDRs, Spectrum Analyzers, etc...
Ability to mentor junior engineers.


 


Education:
BSEE (MSEE preferred)
