Sr. Electrical Design Engineer

We are currently recruiting for a Sr. Electrical Design Engineer to join our Product Development team in Vancouver, WA.

Overview: The Sr. Electrical Design Engineer provides electrical and electronic sustaining engineering and new product development engineering to commercial and institutional treadmills, cycles and steppers. As part of a small and growing team, the Engineer supports multiple, simultaneous efforts under Nautilus, Schwinn, StairMaster and other brands.

Duties:

?General Design of Analog and Digital circuitry (Sr Engineer Position)
?Coordinates local group?s tasks and issues.
?Experienced in all phases of project implementation: Design ? Manufacturing Processes - Field Support to improve quality of the design.
?Analog Layout and Design of low to 2 KWatt switching power supplies
?Basic digital background of 8 and 16 bit microprocessor design to 80 MHz and FPGA circuitry.
?Knowledge of Electro-Mechanical device integration including Selonoid, Motor and Alternators products.
?Experienced in EMC test and mitigation techniques.
?UL and CE safety design standards, such as leakage, creepage, clearance and wiring requirements.
?Analyze performance requirements, devise creative solutions and convert electronic sketches, concepts or ideas into production - ready drawings.
?Evaluate alternative solutions to specific design problems and conduct necessary research as required for problem analysis and resolution.
?Recommend design modifications as indicated by test and usage results data.
?Assist buyers in procuring the lowest cost components which meet performance criteria. Make design changes to allow for lower cost components when possible.
?Participate in vendor selection for components and second manufacturing sources. Conduct Failure Mode and Effects Analysis and generate test design.
?Create engineering change notices. Review and sign off revised drawings.
?Contribute design support for existing products including design modifications. Provide technical support to sales, marketing, field service, quality assurance and manufacturing departments.
?Fitness Industry experiences a plus.

Education: Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering or related scientific discipline from a four - Year College or technical school plus a minimum of ten years related professional work experience in an engineering development environment. Specific electrical design experience required.

Communication: Read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures or government regulations; write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals; present information effectively; and respond to questions appropriately from groups of managers, clients, customers and the general public.

Computer: Experience with Or-Cad, Spice, and Pads are desired.

?High attention to detail but able to connect analyses with business context and business results
?Strong written and verbal communication skills to articulate technical information to various levels through the organization, including senior management
?Ability to work effectively with multiple departments and levels within the company
?Ability and desire to work in a challenging, fast-paced environment
?Self-motivated; able to quickly identify what needs to be accomplished and drive results
