Position:  Sr. Electrical Engineer

 

Summary:

 Drive the electrical design of Tablet PC platforms and peripherals.

 

Essential Job Functions:Drive the electrical design of Tablet PC platforms and peripheralsDrive architecture, implementation, debugging and production release of assigned platform projectsManage electrical development through a Taiwan based ODM design teamWork with third party suppliers on specification, design, testing and trouble shooting of electrical sub-assembles, and peripheral devicesWork with hardware suppliers on specific architectural issues related to the Tablet PC platform unique requirementsAssist in developing detailed scheduled

 

Education and Experience Requirements

BS in Electrical Engineering8 years of related experience or, 5 years related experience and a Masters Degree in Electrical EngineeringExperience with and proven skills in development and testing PC hardware and peripheral devices.  Portable experience with design preferred.Experience and ability to work effectively with remote development teamsExperience and ability to work effectively with marketing, operations and other engineering teamsExperience working with Asian based ODM?sAbility to debug and isolate system and component level problems and determine root causeCapable of documenting test results clearly, concisely and quicklyThorough understanding of and ability to work effectively in design and development team environmentThorough understanding of Intel X86 based designStrong technical knowledge of mobile PC interfaces (USB, Card Bus, PCI-Express, wireless (WWAN, WLAN), Ethernet, analog and digital video, LCD displays, and battery subsystemsExperience in PCB layout and routingExperience with and knowledge of electrical analysis of high speed digital interfaces and peripheral interfacesExperience with and knowledge of EMC and product safety regulations and design approachesCapable of working in a fast paced, multi-disciplined, ambiguous work environmentStrong written and verbal communication skillsAbility to participated in evening conference calls
