Sr Electrical Engineer I - Video Systems Design

Job Description: RTSC is seeking a Video Systems Design Engineer highly experienced in the design of conference rooms, theaters, video and RF distribution systems, and teleconferencing environments. As a key member of the engineering staff, this candidate must have excellent organizational and communications skills to work in a collaborative environment with an engineering team, conduct site surveys with customers, formulate proposals, write specifications, generate signal flow and other drawings in CAD, develop cost and pricing information, coordinate trades efforts, and oversee installations. Experience with wire/cable termination and rack building is a plus .




Required Skills: Must have a minimum of four years experience designing, building and installing RF and CCTV systems, audio and video systems, conference rooms, theaters, projection systems, teleconferencing systems, and assorted messaging and communications systems. Excellent technical writing skills with a proven ability to consistently deliver quality proposal packages in MS Excel, MS Word, Visio, and CAD, track timelines with MS Project, and conform to departmental and engineering best practices is required. Experience preparing technical and cost proposals including detailed equipment and labor requirements, systems descriptions, statements of work, system diagrams, rack elevations, wire pull schedules, and programming requirements is required. Strong knowledge of information technology, including basic network configuration and compression Codecs such as MPEG and Windows Media is a must. Experience analyzing customer requirements and producing work plans while developing and maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction in a dynamic, reactive environment. Excellent communication skills (both written and oral) are required.


Desired Skills: Familiarity with Massachusetts electrical and construction codes is desired. Progressive work experience which demonstrates a record of keeping pace with technology changes in the video conferencing and audio/video fields and the ability to conduct equipment research and keep pace with latest technology and scientific concepts and terminology is desired. Experience developing training plans and materials is desired


Required Education(including Major): - Requires BS in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science, or a similar degree. CTS certification a plus.
