Sr. Engineer - Module Design

Major Focus of Position: Perform moderately complex structural design and analysis using computer codes and industry structural codes related to nuclear power plant operations for systems or components in a commercial nuclear environment.Required Skills:


Design and develop models or simulations and apply advanced computer programs and analytical techniques to meet requirements and resolve problems.
Demonstrated experience with structural analysis computer codes including ability to prepare input, perform analyses, and interpret results.
Provide structural design inputs for accident evaluations, including stress and temperature.
Determine and ensure that the proper controls for analyses are in place and that supporting evaluations and analyses are documented.
Verify engineering work of, and provide technical guidance, training, and direction to others.
Lead and participate on project teams.
Prepare technical descriptions/sections and calculation notes, including cost benefit studies, for proposals for contracts, licensing, and safety documents, and obtain required approvals.
Strengths should include problem solving, multidiscipline teamwork and communications, results orientation.
Engineer-in-Training Certificate is desirable for selected positions.Experience Requirements:

Bachelors Degree
*Mechanical Engineering
*Civil/Structural EngineeringoWorking knowledge of structural modules made up of concrete filled steel walls and floors and plate modules used in left in place forms
oStructural evaluation of outfitting of the structural modules with equipment, piping, ducts, trays etc.;
oStructural evaluation of equipment modules
oWorking knowledge with structural analysis software (e.g. GTSTRUDL, ANSYS) and modeling software
oCoordination with international engineers and subcontractor companies
oInterfacing with several engineering disciplines within Westinghouse
oDegree in Civil engineering, mechanical engineering or equivalent
