Sr Engineer Quality Assurance

Purpose of Position:

As a member of the NPD team, assure activities related to electro/mechanical product quality are appropriately led for CV-NPD.  This individual will support up-front supplier integration and qualification, lead and manage part approval process, lead the definition and implementation of proper tests, inspections, and evaluations during the development process.  This individual will lead the pre-pilot NPD inspection process and NPD Material Review Board as well as assuring critical to quality characteristics are clearly defined in drawings, inspections, and manufacturing test methodology.  This individual will also support CV-NPD in Project Quality Planning, NPD Process Improvement, Safety Risk Management, and the Discrepancy Review Board.  The individual must be able to leverage cross-functional interactions with team members from R&D, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, Manufacturing, Service, Purchasing, IT, Doc. Controls, Marketing, and Management to achieve project and CV-SBU objectives.  This position will be challenged by the need to establish sound NPD direction while achieving CV-SBU goals.

Job Requirements:
1. Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering and minimum five years engineering experience.
2. One to three years experience within a new product development environment and/or within the medical device industry is preferred.
3. Experience working within a manufacturing environment.
4. Experience working with suppliers in a new product development environment preferred.
5. Demonstrated understanding of Quality Tools and Quality Systems.
6. Working knowledge of industrial statistics, reliability analysis, and safety risk management techniques is preferred.
7. Six Sigma experience preferred.
8. CQE is preferred.
9. Proven experience reading/interpreting mechanical/electrical drawings. Knowledge of GD&T is preferred.
10. Experience in quality assurance, safety, or reliability assurance is preferred.
11. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Applications.
