Sr. Installation Technician

Must be proficient in installation, repair, alignment and maintenance of analog trunked radio communications systems. Must have experience with equipment involving microwave radio, digital and analog multiplex equipment, receivers and transmitters, digital and analog receiver voting systems, timing/synchronization oscillator systems, simulcast control systems, computer control systems, TDM console switches, consoles, and mobile and portable radio equipment. Install and configure EDACS communications systems and program radio equipment. Provide some customer consultation, resolve customer on-site issues and maintain high level of customer satisfaction. Perform preventive maintenance, troubleshoot, diagnose and repair equipment to component level. Provide inventory control and record keeping.

High school diploma, completion of Intro to EDACS Sys Maint (YTSP3U) and MIII (Stations and Voting YTSP3T). Other telecommunication classes can be substituted.

Minimum of three years experience installing/operating/testing and maintaining RF communication systems. Must be skilled in microwave radio, multiplex equipment, data communications and telecommunications systems.

Must be able to read and understand complex electronic drawings and documentation and troubleshoot from that documentation. Must have demonstrated mechanical ability and proficiency in the use of hand tools. Must be familiar with personal computers and RF test equipment. Must qualify and maintain a DOD security clearance.
