Position Overview (Major Responsibilities):
Research, analysis, and design of mechanical and opto-mechanical systems.? Principal mechanical engineer for design, development, and testing of the instrument?s interferometer.? Design of the instrument layout for packaging of opto-mechanical and electronic hardware.

Minimum Requirements ? Education:
BS Mechanical Engineering
?

Minimum Requirements ? Skills:Extensive Knowledge of opto-mechanical design principles.Subsystem integration and testing.Proficiency with SolidWorks (or expert knowledge of other 3D CAD modeling systems).? System level design experience with medical devices.Experience with developing injection molded products and the specific requirements that go with designing for molding, desired.Good understanding of manufacturing processes and experience with design for manufacturability and assembly, desired.

Minimum Requirements ? Experience:7+ years industry experience in mechanical and optical design.? 3+ years experience in a FDA regulated, medical device environment.

Candidate must be self-motivated, organized and be able to work with people from multiple technical disciplines in a small company environment.
