EDUCATION
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or related discipline
EXPERIENCE
? 5 years minimum experience as a C/C++ software engineer.
? Extensive knowledge of the Linux operating system
? Experience with network protocols including TCP/IP, SNMP, DHCP, IGMP. Familiarity with network (socket) programming.
? Good understanding of real-time operating system concepts. RTOS development experience is required.
? Experience integrating with 3rd party APIs, services, and libraries.
? Knowledge of digital media technologies (MPEG2, Windows Media) is desirable
? Experience with digital set top box technologies and/or satellite distribution is desirable
? Self-starter, detail oriented, and ability to work under pressure and short timelines.
? Strong written and verbal skills.
Candidate must be able to work in a high pace, high demanding environment which requires total commitment to work product quality, exceeding customer expectations, and highest level of team work.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Candidate will be a member of the Advanced Product Development Group software development team supporting product development for various worldwide markets. Specific responsibilities will include development of Linux based software on an existing set-top platform in support of an important customer. Duties would include: Linux OS support, middleware integration, Linux application development (to a customer UI specification), bootStrap development, factory (SW development) support, DVR/hdd integration, Linux driver integration, DVB-S software integration, IP protocol support, media playback (e.g. MPEG-2) support, and new feature development.
