What will you do?

You will provide network engineering expertise to support development of new products, evaluate Akamai and third party products in various lab and production network environments, provide technical requirements to development team and create and maintain network documentation.

We are seeking a self-motivated and productive network engineer to work on new and exciting products - Akamai"&tm;s application acceleration systems aim to improve the performance and reliability of how applications perform over the Internet. This position is a unique opportunity to work in a dynamic environment with some of the top engineers in the industry, all while building one of the largest distributed systems in the world.

Required Skills:
What are we looking for?

"? Minimum 7 years of network engineering experience
"? Solid understanding of IP networking including, routing (BGP, OSPF), switching, encapsulation, addressing protocols, VPN, MPLS
"? Experience with enterprise networks and the Internet
"? Solid background in Unix systems and scripting language
"? Good understanding of network security principles and practices
"? Must possess Strong written and verbal communication skills
"? US citizenship required with top Secret Security Clearance required
