Sr./Pr. Hardware Engineer

Responsible for the design of circuits and assemblies to be incorporated into Datron?s military communications products.  The successful candidate must be able to work independently with minimum supervision and direction.  Must be able to model using computerized modeling techniques, create schematics, breadboard and test their designs and theorems.  Must be able to defend their design criteria and help integrate their work into the overall product.

 

Circuits typically dealt with include, audio amplifiers and filters, power supplies, microcontrollers and DSP based PCBs. 

 

Candidate must be familiar with current and emerging design methodologies, new components, and techniques

 

Must have experience in system and module level design; and capable of leading a major hardware development effort.

 

Candidate must be familiar with basic manufacturing techniques, design manufacturability, cost control (as it applies to their design) and time to market concerns.  Candidate must be comfortable in a team environment working with co-workers above and below their knowledge level.

 

The ideal candidate will be a key contributor of circuit designs for the engineering group.  Able to Design circuits to support low frequency analog, digital and DSP based modules and/or products.  Write simple firmware to support design validation.  Willing to provide mentoring and training to junior members of the staff as needed. Provide project leadership and direction.  Be responsible for the accurate and timely dissemination of technical information related to product designs.  As required, coordinates resource requirements and projects with the group manager.  Actively participates in staff meetings and contributes in the decision making process.  Candidate will be responsible for maintaining a personal schedule of deliverables agreed to for any given project.  Is a liaison between engineering, manufacturing and customer service, concerning DWC designs.  Candidate may be asked to participate in remedial efforts, in regards to released and/or supported products and systems on an as needed base to assist in over all company objectives.

 

This position requires a bachleor?s degree and at least 10 years related experience in hardware engineering. 

 

Individual must be detail oriented, accurate, and have excellent verbal and written communication skills.  Able to manage a variety of tasks and meet multiple demands in a dynamic atmosphere, in addition to working with all levels of personnel and thrive in a team oriented environment.
