Sr. Principal Engineer - 7463 CSD

Position Summary:
Position may be filled in Irvine, Ogden or elsewhere.  Responsible for electronics portion of flight control actuation systems, from requirements generation through design, verification, validation, and certification.  Researches and carries out the most complex or innovative engineering assignments requiring the development of new or improved methods, techniques and procedures. Contributes to and has responsibility for completion of significant special assignments with broad product, technology investment and integration, customer and strategic impact.

Responsibilities:
1. At times, leads a new product development team consisting of software, firmware, and hardware engineers as well as performing the actual design work
2. Participates in proposal preparation and related activities
3. Interfaces with customers, program managers, other team members, and suppliers. Some travel (domestic and international) is required
4. Provides comprehensive expert technical information concerning the electronics and software aspects of the system
5. Contributes to and has responsibility for completion of significant special assignments

Requirements:
Bachelors degree (BS) in mechanical, aerospace, electronic, or systems engineering or a related technical discipline. MS/Ph.D. preferred.
Fifteen or more years of related experience in Aerospace or Automotive. 
Experienced in electrohydraulic and electromechanical flight control systems
Experienced in working with customers and suppliers in defining system and component level requirements
Thorough knowledge and understanding of FAA guidelines for development and certification of electronics and software such as Do-254, RTCA-178B, and ARP 4754
Provide electronics architecture definition based on required functionality, safety, and compliance with certification regulations
Strong presentation skills, as well as written and oral communication skills
Travel required
