To perform routine work of making reoccurring changes to standard product lines to satisfy customer specifications.  Non-standard work is accomplished independently with minimal direction of manager.  Trains detailers and designers and provides direction through sketches, written instruction, or verbal description. $1-2M Product Cost


 


Principal Duties:


Prepares drawings of piece parts, assemblies, and weldments for routine changes to standard product offerings to satisfy customer specifications.  Uses existing product drawings and information to process orders.  Requires demonstrated capability of utilizing AutoCAD and generating bill of material information for the processing of parts.

Processes non-standard requirements generated from customer specifications.

Develops tools for the performance of design functions, which are clear and concise for use by others.

Anticipates limitations of process and equipment to handle non-standard designs and produces written instructions and verbal assistance to those required to perform manufacturing functions.

Produces standards or methods documentation to support design activities.  Ensure conformance to company policy and standards in all aspects of job performance.

Provides sketches, marked up drawings, and written or verbal instructions for detailers and designers.

Provides detailers and designers with necessary purchased part and design criteria for standard and non-standard products.

Initiates improvements in standard and non-standard product lines for efficiency and/or cost to produce.

Reviews work performed by detailers and designers for accuracy and correctness.

Trains detailers and designers in the performance of their duties.

Identifies opportunities for process improvements and assists in implementation by providing instructions, standards, and training personnel.

Provides leadership to detailers and designers by influence and not by direct report.

Adheres to the Company’s Code of Conduct and Business Ethics standards.

This position requires a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college in Engineering and five (5) to seven (7) years experience in a related field.  To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Proficiency in Microsoft Suite Applications (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint and MAPICS), as well as Internet software and E-mail is required.
