Sr RF Engineer - RF/Mixed Signal Design & Test- (Bedminster, NJ)
Role Senior RF Engineer - Low Power RF Board Level Design
The candidate will participate on a design and development project team to architect and design radio sections for cellular wireless access devices based on FLASH-OFDMA technology and operating in frequency bands between 450MHz and 3.6 GHz. The candidate will be involved in the specification, design, development and test of RF and mixed signal hardware that includes any of the following .
. Responsible for board level analysis, design, test, and implementation of cellular radio transceiver sections including amplifiers, filters, frequency synthesizers, multifunction RF and mixed signal ICs
. Test and specify PAs, LNAs, Filters, VCOs, Synthesizers, multifunction RFICs, A/D and D/A converters and other components.
. Adopt existing designs to new frequency, linearity, and other radio requirements.
. Adopt designs to new form factors.
. Cost reduce designs through incorporation of new components.
. Perform unit and integration tests
. Direct board layout to achieve required rf performance
. Interface cross-functionally at the working team level to digital, communications, and DSP engineers.
Skills/Experience
. Experience in carrying out development projects from concept through manufacturing
. Proven experience in implementing miniature, low power RF board level designs for wireless communications systems
. Working knowledge of radio transceiver building blocks such as PAs, LNAs, mixers, PLL synthesizers, Gain control amps, filters, couplers, A/D and D/A Converters, etc.
. impedance matching
. board layout effects on component performance, board coupling and isolation, emi control
. Analog to digital signal and control interfaces design and validation
. engineering validation, testing, and debugging prototype units
. Working knowledge of RF CAD tools and excellent skills with RF laboratory test equipments and test methods
. Excellent problem solving, team player, and interpersonal communication skills are essential
Additional Skills
. CDMA (IS-95, 1X)Cellular phone or compact radio design experience
. Experience in testing to IS-98 or 3GPP2 standards
. Experience in packaging/shielding/thermo analysis for compact designs
. Experience in RFIC specification and testing
. Experience in design for power efficiency
. Experience in product development and interfacing with manufacturing teams
Education Requirements
. Bachelor's and seven plus years experience in analog/RF hardware design and development.
