About this job:

As an SQA Engineer you will be primarily responsible for the testing of Actel's FPGA design software and related tools and flows used by customers to design and program Actel FPGA devices. Your emphasis will be on the EDA tools i.e. RTL synthesis (Synplicity/Precision), schematic capture (Viewdraw), physical synthesis (Palace), debugging (Identify), simulation (Modelsim/NC-SIM) etc.

The following describes the primary focus of the positionCreate and publish test plans and test reports.Develop, maintain & support SQA?s infrastructure for software test case development, execution, analysis and reporting.
Execute automated and manual software tests, analyze, evaluate and document results.
Conduct experiments, analyze results, and make recommendations on all areas of the tools flow that impact performance, quality, and usability.
Analyze and correct test failures, generate performance metrics to identify and improve software features quality.
Document bugs in the Software defect tracking database and verify them once they?ve been fixed, and follow up with the developers as needed.
Design, develop, and implement automated testing methodology using Perl/Tcl/Ksh/Csh scripts for new and existing software features, as needed.
This position requires someone who can work effectively both in a team and independently. Someone who is able to work in cross-functional teams as a driver of software quality by coordinating with other Product stakeholders i.e. Engineering, Applications, Technical Marketing, and Technical Publications.
You must be pro-active in taking ownership of projects and problems, confident in your abilities, willing to take on challenging projects, and open to creative solutions.

US Citizenship or Permanent Residency Required.


Required Skills and Experience: Has at least a BSEE and 4 years of related experiencePossesses a solid background in digital logic, HDL design and scripting languages such as Perl, Csh, and Tcl
Proven knowledge of VHDL/Verilog RTL coding and test benches, RTL & physical synthesis, simulation techniques, and hardware design methodologies
Is experienced with EDA tools such as Synplicity, Precision, Palace, Modelsim, NC_SIM and is aware of the latest trends in the EDA industry
Has direct experience creating complex scripted-automation systems
Articulate and able to write clear, well-organized, concise documents
Takes a proactive approach in evaluating problems and recommending improvements
Has strong interpersonal and communication skills are required
Having direct software QA experience with an FPGA or EDA vendor is a strong plus.
Has familiarity with Actel supported operating systems (Windows, Solaris, and Linux)
