Summary:

 

Responsible for designing, developing, modifying, and evaluating precision optical mechanisms and

equipment used in the semiconductor capital equipment sector. Will work directly with the OEM

customer on developing optomechanical components and systems. Must have an BSME degree, but

an MSME is preferred. Must be proficient in the use of SolidWorks CAD, precision machine design,

engineering statics, thermal dynamics, vibration principles, and stress analyses to solve mechanical

design challenges. Must be able to innovate and be creative in a rapid-paced product development

team environment. Experience with PDMWorks is a plus. Must have strong command in written and

verbal communication. Must be will to travel to the customer site and be proficient in customer

relations.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

? Must be familiar with the Semiconductor capital equipment industry (preferably from the

engineering or R&D organization of a company such as KLT-Tencor, Intel Corp, Samsung

Electronics Co., Renesas Technology Corp., Texas Instruments Inc., STMicroelectronics, Infineon

Technologies, NEC Corp., Freescale Semiconductor Inc., Philips Semiconductors).

? Must be familiar with DUV optics and laser systems (wavelengths such as 193nm, 248nm,

355nm, 365nm).

? Must be able to design, develop, and/or modify precision optomech systems.

? Generate 3D CAD models and 2D detailed drawings using SolidWorks CAD.

? Perform calculations using statics, thermal dynamics, FEA, and vibration principles.

? Be proficient in continual improvement and root cause failure analysis.

? Work with suppliers to obtain quotes and generate product cost estimates.

? Generate engineering change orders (ECOs) and incorporate drawing changes using Solidworks

 

Knowledge/Skills/Requirements:

Must have an BSME degree, but an MSME is preferred. Experience required in the area of Mechanical

Engineering and precision design of metal mechanisms.

Other Training/Technical Skills/Knowledge:

? Precision Design of optical mechanisms using metals and plastics.

? High degree of proficiency in SolidWorks CAD required.

? Experience and knowledge of concept model and prototype testing.

? Must be proficient with MS Office tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Project).

? Strong communication skills both written and spoken is required including ability to clearly present

to technical and managerial audiences.

? Must be able to work with minimal supervision. This position is strongly empowered to make all

key design decisions within the bounds of the project plan requirements.
