Sr. Transmission Engineer

Job Requirements:
Successful candidates will have a BSEE or BSCE, be a California Registered Engineer or qualified to immediately become a California Registered Engineer. Successful candidate will assist in providing leadership and engineering expertise to the group. Successful individuals for this position will have a minimum of twelve to fifteen years overall engineering experience and ten years experience specifically in overhead Transmission Line Engineering at 220KV and above. Demonstrated knowledge of G.O. 95, NESC, Electrical Transmission Line operations, insulator/hardware systems and conductors is required. Successful candidates will have advanced demonstrated ability to analyze highly complex electrical transmission issues, develop alternative possible solutions, and provide engineering direction on a variety of concurrent projects which may include complex,controversial and unique problems and requirements; demonstrated high level and ability to plan, organize, coordinate, and schedule multiple tasks with a minimum of management direction, and must be able to adjust to changing priorities and assignments. Must have strong interpersonal and leadership skills in a team building/coaching environment. Must be skilled at interacting with internal and external organizations, including having excellent oral, written and presentation skills. A broad knowledge of safety, applicable governmental and regulatory laws, rules, and regulations is required. Travel by automobile or helicopter throughout Southern California Edisons 50,000 square mile service territory, including to remote rugged locations, is a regular part of the work for this position.

Typical Responsibilities:
Under the direction of the Lead Transmission Engineer, interfaces with an array of working level engineering and planning personnel, operations, maintenance and construction personnel, and management to identify and perform a wide range of 220/500 KV Transmission Line engineering, analysis and design tasks. Performs and oversees preparation of electrical and structural analysis, calculations and design, responds to the operating and construction organizations engineering support needs, supports planning and scoping of system upgrades, and supports Transmission Line licensing activities. Will be leading, participating in or assisting managers in coaching and mentoring various levels of engineers. Position will serve as a senior staff expert in this specialized area. Position may participate in department planning, provide budget recommendations, and monitor performance for the accomplishment of committed results, and implementation of capital project. Manage the evaluation, development that have significant financial and operational impact.
