This key position will participate as a member of the development team responsible for implementation, unit test and validation of embedded real-time flight software for meteorological satellite instruments.

Develops and maintains plans, schedules and budgets for assigned projects. Prepares for periodic management reviews as required to give management visibility on the status and progress of assigned projects.

May be required to perform special assignments and/or lend technical direction to subordinate engineering personnel. May perform other assignments which are related to the work of the Engineering Department or which are normally performed by employees of a higher or lower classification.

Equivalent Educational Requirements - BS, with MS or Ph.D. preferred, in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering.

Experience Required - Eight to twelve years engineering experience using OO or structured design techniques required. Experience in real-time embedded software implementation, VxWorks or other RTOS preferred, board support packages preferred. C++ development experience preferred.

Knowledge Required - Specialized knowledge in areas applicable to the division's product lines. Knowledge is required in two or more areas of technical specialization -- An area of technical specialization is defined as systems, design and test as well as the areas of specialization typically recognized by Universities within a particular engineering curriculum. Knowledge of OO methods and real-time embedded software implementation required.
