Staff Engineer/Technologist 5, Lead Composites Engr.

CITY: Cincinnati STATE: Ohio COUNTRY: USA Essential Functions (Responsibilities):
* Execute with some guidance the analysis/evaluation of assigned projects that meet business standards, practices and procedures and the product/program requirements.
* Provide technical leadership to other personnel assigned to support the effort on assigned projects and/or tasks; mentors others in the organization.
* Document technical data generated for the assigned projects and/or tasks consistent with engineering policies and procedures.
* Monitor and communicate project status, business issues and significant developments.
* Participate as a presenter or reviewer in technical and program reviews.
* Lead manufacturing process development and cost reduction initiatives for Polymeric Composite Components.
* Participate in strategic planning activities to appropriately support end product design and cost goals.
* Interface with Design, Materials, Quality, Manufacturing, Sourcing, Services, Global Research, Suppliers and others as required.

Qualifications/Requirements:
* Bachelors of Science in Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, or Computer Science.
* At least 3 years of experience in an engineering field.

* Strong interpersonal and leadership skills, with cross-functional experience preferred
* Strong oral and written communication skills.
* Technological proficiency, including relevant engineering tools.
* Experience designing and implementing new products using the NPI process.
* An understanding of Six Sigma tools to make data-based recommendations and decisions.
* Ability to successfully work in a team environment.
* Prior manufacturing process development experience with one or more of the following: autoclave molding, compression molding, Resin Transfer Molding, hand layup, automated layup, dry fabric preform fabrication for RTM, mold design and fab, ancillary fixturing for composite part machining and Assembly.
* Prior cure cycle process development experience with one or more of the following resin systems: epoxies, BMIs, and polyimides.
* MS in Materials, Composites, Mechanical, Manufacturing Engineering or other related engineering discipline.
