Staff Geotechical Engineer

Full-time
Masters degree in geotechnical engineering or civil engineering with geotechnical emphasis.
With a Masters degree, a minimum of two years work experience in geotechnical engineering. With a Ph.D. degree, at least two summers of geotechnical engineering internship and two years of research assistance work.

Experience in 2 and 3-dimensional modeling, slope stability analysis and deep foundation analysis is required. Must have ability to get E.I.T., have a valid driver's license and be able to travel and work in remote conditions in inclement weather.

The URS Seattle office needs a geotechnical engineer who will provide Office engineering and numerical modeling including slope stability, seepage, settlement, liquefaction, seismic, and shallow and deep foundation analyses, report writing and preparation, field monitoring of drilling and test pit explorations, and construction quality control of earthwork and foundation preparations on some of the most challenging and complex geotechnical projects in the Pacific Northwest. Assist in resolving multi-discipline technical issues, providing solutions and delivering reports, designs, permit applications, drawings, specifications and cost estimates to high technical standards.
