Job Description:

Staff Mechanical Engineer
Senior Level MechanicalEngineer possessing excellent analytical, design, communication, and leadership skills.

As a key memberof a multi-disciplinary instrument engineering team, you will lead and/or engage in any number of far ranging mechanical design or system level engineering activities.

Technical acumen in areas of motion control, fluid handling, and/or opto-mechanical design is required.






Essential Skills:

BS in Mechanical Engineering or Physics, MS Desirable

Minimum of 10 years experience in a product development environment which includes successful, hands-on experience in developing and releasing measurement or medical instrumentation to production

Strong analytical and problem solving skills including the application of fundamental principles of mechanical engineering

SolidWorks experience highly desirable, 3D Solid Modeling experience a must

Experience designing mechanical positioning systems, step and servo motor systems, with displacement resolutions of 10 microns and smaller

Experience designing optical and/or imaging systems a significant plus

Experience designing or working with fluid handling systems a plus

Systems level engineering experience desirable.
Abilty to conceive and draft system and sub-system level specifications suitable for use with internal customers or external suppliers
