Staff Reliability Engineer - Fixed Equipment

Scope:

This position will work to improve fixed equipment reliability by applying Reliability Engineering principles, statistical data analysis and supporting work process for the Honeywell Specialty Materials sites.

 

Broad Control — Supports and influences plant personnel across 30+ Specialty Materials sites.

 

This position will require 50-75% travel.

 

Responsibilities:Identify code-related gaps (e.g. ASME, API, welding) in site personnel skills and facilitate bringing the training necessary to support reliability of fixed equipment. Institutionalize a reliability culture surrounding fixed equipment and materials of constructionFacilitate investigation of keynote failures associated with fixed equipment and materials of construction.  Bring in additional materials or other experts as necessary to resolve issues. Use the Apollo RCFA method where appropriate and recommend corrective actions related to failure analysis.Train people on how to prepare Reliability Plans for critical equipment: Preventive Maintenance, Predictive Maintenance, Operator Monitoring, Critical Repair activities, and Spare Parts bills of materials quality assurance.Partner with SM Engineering Department and Sites to establish & maintain Design Standards for Fixed Equipment and materials of construction. Functional Owner of the Fixed Equipment elements of the Specialty Materials’ Inspection, Testing and Preventive Maintenance standards for OSHA 1910.119 Mechanical Integrity element of Process Safety Management. Maintain currency with developments in the inspection & testing fields to recommend improvements to current practices





 

Qualifications: Experience as a trainer or instructor is beneficial.Capable of analyzing data from equipment history records (SAP, equipment files, vendor research) as basis for reliability plans.  Extensive experience in Fixed Equipment reliability (pressure vessels, heat exchangers, atmospheric storage tanks, relief devices, piping systems, and utilities-related fixed equipment such as boilers, cooling towers, hot oil systems, water treatment).  Extensive knowledge of metallurgy.  Extensive knowledge in the use and application of NDT technologies (UT, PT, MT, RT, VT). Self-starter and effective at leading teams. Excellent communication skills.  Experience with utilizing SAP-PM for reliability data collection and analysis is a plusGood proficiency in use of Microsoft products: Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, and Visio

Requirements:BS Mechanical or Materials Engineering, and 8 - 12 years related experience. Six Sigma Green Belt Certification desired.  Experience in hands-on Reliability Engineering in heavy industrial settings (Chemicals, Petroleum, Steel, Pulp & Paper, etc).
