Statistician

As a Statistician at Micron, you will be responsible for driving the improved understanding and utilization of statistical tools and methods throughout the manufacturing and IS organization. In this position, you will assist with the design of experiments and data analysis for research, process and product development, and manufacturing processes to determine the appropriate statistical method of Process Control to be placed in Process Control Systems. Your responsibilities will also include developing and delivering training and training materials on statistics and related topics. Additionally, you will assist with the evaluation, purchase, and implementation of statistical and Process Control System software and related tools.

Successful candidates for this position will have:
A willingness to travel extensively, if required.
Working knowledge of several statistical software programs, including SAS/JMP, R/SPlus, MATLAB.
A high level of self-motivation.

Persuasive and diplomatic communication skills (verbal and written, and in one-on-one and group settings).
A history of coursework and/or experience in several subjects, including Statistical Process Control (SPC) and sampling strategies; Applied Multivariate Analysis; Control Theory; Time Series Analysis; Regression, ANOVA, and Mixed Models; Design of Experiments; Nonlinear or Logistic Regression; Reliability Analysis; Categorical Data Analysis; Data Mining Techniques; and Six Sigma and KT certification.
Supervisory or team leadership skills (preferred).
Computational programming/simulation skills (preferred).
Experience in developing, teaching, and presenting technical subjects (preferred).
Semiconductor and/or electronics manufacturing experience (preferred).Education:MS or PhD in Statistics or a related field and/or equivalent work experience with Process Control Systems is required.
