Steam Turbine Repairs Engineer - Mid Level

ALSTOM Power, Inc., a global leader and provider of power generation engineering, products, and services, is seeking a Steam Turbine Repairs Engineer (Mid-Level) for its Turbine Generator Repairs/Other OEM Engineering department.  The individual will support the steam turbine rotating and stationary equipment repair and service projects based at our Richmond, VA location.

 

Basic Functions

 

The Steam Turbine Repairs Engineer would be responsible for technically supporting the steam turbine rotating and stationary equipment repair / service projects to be performed in a state of the art Power Generation Service Workshop.  This engineering position would be part of the Turbine Generator Repairs / Other OEM Engineering group reporting to the Director of Engineering.  The power generation equipment and components to be serviced and repaired will be both ALSTOM and Other OEM technology.  The candidate would work with a team of welding engineers, manufacturing engineers, application engineers, and mechanical designers to scope, design, and technically support in-shop and on-site mechanical and weld repairs to steam turbine forging shafts, rotating and stationary blades, and stationary castings.  The candidate must be able to work with a team as well as be an individual self starter.  The position requires the ability to technically define, create, evaluate, and recommend calculations, analysis, drawings, procedures, protocols, inspection requirements, inspection findings, and equipment conditions.  The candidate must be willing to not only provide design engineering technical expertise within the engineering office group but also support and troubleshoot workshop production mechanical and welding service work on the factory floor.

?  Flexibility in Support of Power Generation Outage Seasons, required.

?  Flexibility in Support of Off Hours and Weekend Work, required.

?  Customer and Vendor Interaction / Presentations, required

 

Associate Qualifications

 

Education

?  BS degree engineering, required.

 

Skills/Experience/Requirements

?  Minimum of 5-7 years steam turbine experience, required.

?  Minimum of 3-5years steam turbine service / repairs / maintenance / aftermarket experience, required.

?  Minimum of (3) years customer service workshop technical support environment experience, required.
