Job Description

Challenging, fast paced customer focused position investigating & resolving technical in-service structural repair & maintenance issues on Commercial Airplanes Single Aisle wing, empennage and strut structures. Resolves a wide range of complex technical problems associated with support, analysis, modifications, and repair that requires ingenuity and innovation. Determines and develops approaches to solutions. Develops, documents, and maintains processes, methods, and tools. Helps resolve programmatic and technical problems that would effect cost, schedule, and performance. Provides functional guidance to less experienced staff; acts in a technical leadership capacity.

Competencies

Review & develop structural repairs, perform basic stress analysis of unique repairs, champion Service Related Problems (SRP), participate in Airplane On Ground (AOG) team repairs and interface with airline customers and other Boeing organizations to resolve in-service issues/queries. Strong written and verbal communication skills required. Structural experience (stress, design or liaison) pref. Ability to advocate the customer's perspective in development, design, production, test, certification, delivery, and sustaining activities of the airframe and/or structural components throughout its useful life. Provide on-site engineering knowledge and skills in support of the Boeing Repair Station (AOG) activities, contractual agreements for technical assistance, and/or specific customer requirements. Clearly and effectively communicating company plans and actions supporting the above to customers, other company organizations, suppliers, vendors and other associated groups.

Education

Requires educational credentials meeting the classification standards for engineers. Typically a min of 8 yrs experience in an engineering classification. BS in Engineering pref.

Some travel required. This position is part of an organization that provides 24 hour a day, 7 days a week support to our Airline Customers. There may be times when you will be requested to work weekends and evenings as part of our Rapid Response Center (RRC). Please be advised that by accepting this position, you are voluntarily agreeing to work non-standard weeks if/when necessary.
