DESCRIPTIONS OF FUNCTION AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

The New Product Introduction (NIP) Supply Base Manager within World Wide Manufacturing manages Supplier relationships in support of global cost, quality and availability goals for components procured from the Supply Base. The NIP Supply Base Manager (SBM) manages hardware introductions through subcontractors and into distribution. This position requires heavy interface with Engineering program management and the Operations NIP group. The SBM is responsible for Project schedules, both established and tracked; early materials availability; and DFM, DFT, and DFX goals achieved through cross-functional cooperation. As a Supply Base Manager, you will be responsible for NIP project adherence to Agile database rules. You'll utilize Microsoft Project tools for tracking and reporting. You also must be familiar with hardware manufacturing and industry component suppliers. As a McAfee SBM, you must step up to challenge and accept responsibilities for accomplishment of cost, quality and delivery targets set by the WW Manufacturing group and work closely with sustaining SBM?s for on-going supplier management. You?ll co-lead projects with Technical Operations elements in WW Manufacturing. You?ll also handle management for the implementation of major component re-design for sustaining products.


o Responsible for insuring that third party manufacturing vendors meet production forecasts and requirements for worldwide fulfillment centers. Insures that vendors provide highest possible service levels and cost efficiencies
o Works with Hardware Engineering, Marketing and Strategic Sourcing Manager to establish requirements and milestones for new products
o Responsible for issuing Purchase Orders to Suppliers and approving invoices from suppliers related to NIP
o Responsible for managing suppliers on a daily basis so as to meet NIP schedules
o Drive company-wide programs that improve supply chain performance and/or reduce supply chain costs
o Manage supplier performance through appropriate measures, reviews, and corrective actions
o Drive selected senior staff initiatives
o A heavy emphasis will be placed on driving TTM & DFX improvements
o Take the lead in assisting in the research, development, and implementation of solutions to supply issues.
o Work with Master Production Scheduling to insure updated unit sales forecasts are communicated to manufacturing vendors in a timely manner in accordance with manufacturing lead times.
o Insure vendor charges comply with contracts and product budgets.
o Maintain close contact with Product Development teams.
o Develops metrics to define and measure key performance indicators and reports on a monthly basis. Generate project status reports and provides feedback on a weekly basis. Develops formal action plans with vendors to improve required performance areas. Regularly evaluate quality and performance benchmarks, and the risks associated with the preferred supply base selection. Encourage and coordinate early supplier involvement in highly technical and/or contractually complex new products parts design using the suppliers? expertise to optimize quality and producibility.

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

MS Project, MS Office Suite, Agile, SAP Experience a plus

QUALIFICATIONS/EDUCATION:

BA/BS degree plus 5-10 years experience or MA/MS/MBA degree plus 5-7 years experience, or equivalent
