Cummins Power Generation is a leader in the design and manufacture of power generation equipment and one of the most

integrated providers of power solutions in the world.

The Power Generation Business is Cummins second-largest segment, with sales of $1.9 billion in 2004. The business provides

systems and services for a diversified customer base needing self-generated or standby power. Commercial power systems, under

the Cummins name in North America, consist of 5kW-2MW generator sets, controls, transfer switches and paralleling switchgear.

In countries where utility power is unreliable or unavailable, they are used as a prime source of power.

Currently, we are looking for several Supply Engineers for our Minneapolis, Minnesota facility. As a Supply Engineer you

will be responsible for:

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provide leadership toward supplier assessment, sourcing strategies, supplier development, Quality systems, and performance

improvement.
Drive supplier cost reduction efforts using Value Analysis and Value Engineering techniques.
Support new product introductions and sustaining engineering efforts through DfX methodologies, and qualification/development

of a supply base capable of appropriate cost/quality/velocity/technology/service attributes.
Assemble data from remote sources for development/maintenance of appropriate specifications, metrics, and trend analyses;

employ preventive and corrective actions to ensure continuous improvement.
Facilitate incorporation of disadvantaged-, small-, minority/women owned, and low-cost-country business enterprises through

development of this supply base toward high performance levels.
Provide support for Supply and Operations in resolving chronic supplier performance issues.

SKILLS - FUNCTIONAL/TECHNICAL:
BA/BS in Engineering or related technical discipline; Masters or MBA a plus
CQE, CQM, CQA, MBB, or other appropriate certification desired
Minimum 5 years experience in an Engineering or Operations role with associated experience in Manufacturing Engineering,

Design or Product Engineering, Materials Planning, Production Management and Finance. Requires leading edge knowledge and

demonstrated practical application of quality and reliability concepts, supply chain management and lean manufacturing, total

cost modeling, and six-sigma toolsets.
Excellent communication and inter-personal skills
Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams in a widely diverse cultual environment and in a large matrix organiztion
Must be willing to travel internationally on a regular basis
