The Natural Resources, Industry, and Infrastructure (NRII) group is seeking Surveyors with a background in the mining industry to be based in Silver City, New Mexico.

Provide surveying service to company supervision and crafts to ensure mine reclamation complies with design drawings.


1. Provide work control lines and elevations that are required for accurate measurement and correct installation of materials by crafts.
2. Provide checking of mine conditions that require the use of surveying techniques.
3. Provide topographic and cross-section surveys as required for planning and payment quantities. Provide quantity calculations as required.
4. Prepare documentation of surveying activities.
5. Maintain condition and adjustment of surveying equipment.
6. Coordinate surveying activities with the assigned engineer to meet the mining reclamation requirements.
7. Work in a manner to ensure your personal safety and that of fellow employees by following company health and safety guidelines and policies.
8. Assure that direct reporting employees follow safe work practices and use company guidelines and policies for planning and executing work in a safe manner.
9. Perform additional assignments per supervisor's direction.

Educational Requirements: 2 years technical engineering/surveying training

Experience Requirements: 1+ year civil or mining surveying experience
Thorough knowledge of and ability to use all surveying equipment & techniques is essential.
Ability to accurately read blueprints and calculate shapes (geometric, etc.) also required.


Equivalent combination of experience and training may be substituted.
