System Controller/MTS Sr.

SSBI REQUIRED. Field Operations System Controller for complex system operations at an overseas Site in Australia. Position is contingent upon completion of a comprehensive System Controller training course conducted locally. The training consists of a classroom Lecture Phase and a follow-on Simulator Phase, which will be conducted at the Field Site. In the Lecture Phase all major subsystems are presented and studied in detail. Written examinations, including subsystem level diagrams drawn from memory, and stand-up oral examinations are administered to evaluate Trainee progress. Upon completion of the Lecture Phase, the Trainee progresses into the Simulator Phase. In the Simulator Phase the System Controller Trainee will learn and practice system anomaly recognition, proper anomaly response, correct use of Operations procedures and in-depth analysis techniques. In a simulated real time environment, the Trainee will apply and demonstrate the knowledge gained in response to anomalous conditions. At the completion of Simulator Training, the System Controller Trainee must demonstrate situational awareness, correct system anomaly recognition, timely and accurate response, correct use of Operations procedures, and in-depth problem analysis. The System Controller Trainee must successfully demonstrate capability at meeting these objectives to achieve Certification / Qualification.


SSBI REQUIRED. Position is also eligible for a Grade 62 / MTS-II depending on experience. Basic knowledge of RF and electronics principles desired. Must be able to read and follow technical flow diagrams. Must be able to troubleshoot subsystem level problems and expand troubleshooting to the system level. Must have good oral communications to demonstrate and defend subsystem and system level understanding and troubleshooting during oral examinations in training. Must be able to operate in a small team real time environment and perform accurately under often-stressful conditions. Must be able to clearly communicate anomalous observations and events to Operations Crew Leads and other engineers. Must be able to follow Operations procedures with diligent attention to detail. Real time Operations experience is desired. BS Degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering/Technology and/or equivalent Military or Technical School training. Satisfactory training course completion is a requirement for an overseas tour assignment. Upon satisfactory course completion, a two-year overseas tour commitment is required. Must pass physical, psychological, and security/polygraph screening. Rotating shift work is required to cover 24/7 Operations.
