System Integration Engineer - Solaris

Summary:  The SAN System Integration Engineer is a member of the software development team responsible for developing and delivering NetApp’s Host attach kits. The Host Attach Kit (AK) is a product which allows host operating systems to integrate with Netapp storage solutions.  This individual is a key member of the team that develops and delivers new features and ensures proper operation of the attach kits over multiple UNIX  platforms with an emphasis on Solaris. Responsibilities include:  (1)  Helping ensure that kit components work properly to meet specs, including but not limited to: Native drivers, native HBAs, multipathing SW, volume management, host clustering, installation/packaging, & bug fixes.; (2) providing internal support, documentation generation and review, QA support, etc.; (3) working closely with other members of AK team and other engineering teams; (4) working with external partners (OS vendors)  to ensure delivery of products that are part of NetApp AKs and (5) supporting the released product as needed.


 


Qualifications (Required):


 


·  BSCS/CE or equivalent experience required


·  3-5 years experience in the system/storage integration


·  Solid knowledge and experience with AIX


·  SAN design and integration experience.


·  Scripting experience, preferably Perl or Shell.


·  Experience integrating multiple SAN storage solutions (EMC, Hitachi, IBM, HP, etc).


·  Experience in designing, developing, configuring & testing storage solutions for production us


   and documenting limitations, restrictions and basic best practices.


·  System debugging skills.


·  Excellent oral communication skills.


 


Qualifications (Desired):


 


·  Experience with Veritas Foundation Suite 3.2 or higher.


·  System/storage administration experience (Unix Administrator, System Administrator, Storage


Engineer, Storage Integration Engineer are ideal backgrounds if they include automation


   experience using scripting languages, particularly PERL.


·  Experience developing and delivering software products and tools.


·  Experience qualifying SAN Host Attach Kits.
