Systems Administrator (Windows)

DESCRIPTION:  This position is a great opportunity to join the AGEIA team and be part of our cutting edge technology in the game industry. Our Systems Administrator is part of the IT team who is managing a large number of servers including set up, operations and regular maintenance.  This includes assisting all offices (Missouri, California, Switzerland, Sweden & China)  with any IT requests, trouble tickets and etc.

Key functions of this position are:

  Network Maintenance:  Systems maintenance including system monitoring, performance tuning, installing equipment and software, testing and documentation.  Quality assurance testing of vendor provided updates and new releases.  Analyzing system failures, correction of errors, recovery of systems and corrupted data

  Systems Analysis:  Analyze existing systems to identify potential improvements which support AGEIA?s primary business functions.  Recommend process improvements and problem resolutions.  Devise system-monitoring controls to ensure data integrity.

  Security Administration:  Perform system security administration and monitoring as required to assure the confidentiality and integrity of the AGEIA?s data assets.

  Customer Support:  Professionally respond to user inquiries, support requests and trouble reports

 

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE: 2+ years experience in a Systems Administrator role for a high tech/high growth companyDemonstrated ability to maintain, implement and troubleshoot multiple Windows Servers (2000, 2003) and Exchange/Outlook emailExtensive knowledge of Microsoft operating systems (XP, 2000, 2003)Experience with MySQL database management (Query set up)Firewall/VPN setup and maintenance (Netscreens, CiscoPix)Working knowledge of TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS and YP/NISBasic knowledge of UNIX, Clustering/PerforceScripting language experience:  VB & PerlVeritas Backup ExecVisual Studio knowledge/experienceExemplary communication skills (verbal/written)Ability to work independently as well as in a team environmentAvailable for emergencies 24/7Attention to detail with the desire to learnStrong analytical and problem solving skillsExcellent customer service skillsExperience in a multi-tasking position
