System Integration Engineer

Position description
The System Integration Engineer for Global Online Studio is responsible for setup and stability of online servers, services and environments used by game teams. They are also responsible for troubleshooting and game team support at all points during the development cycle.
He works closely with Developers, Game Teams, QA, IT System Administrators and other groups in managing the day-to-day emergencies and operations.
Duties involve participating in on-call rotation within the operations team.

Job responsibilities
* Coordinate multiple simultaneous requests for troubleshooting, patch deployment, and server maintenance daily. Provide regular status updates regarding progress of emergency patches. Deploy patch files to test environments and restarts services as needed.
* Diagnose and debug web and application server issues working in standalone or in Apache/Tomcat environment.
* Verify updates to servers in the production environment, clearly documenting and/or communicating the status of updates and fixes.
* Launches and deploys software builds, and diagnoses build problems.
* Creates and edits configuration files to set up new games and application
* Provide support to game teams by troubleshooting issues in a complex multi-tiered network environment, including custom application servers, firewalls, load balancers and VPN tunnels.
* Trail alert log files to isolate area where problems are occurring and work with SDK and Platform engineering to resolve issues.

Required skills
* Proficiency in Unix/Linux, capable of diagnosing load and performance issues on a Unix/Linux environment. Managing active processes, scripting (shell or perl) in an application server environment.
* Experience troubleshooting network issues and basic knowledge of client server network architecture and topology.
* Elementary programming skills in Java, C and C++
* Experience using a standard configuration management / code management tools (Perforce, CVS, Clearcase).
* Experience working with and knowledge of the Software Development Lifecycle.
* Familiarity with common internet technologies and demonstrated interest in and ability to adapt to new technologies
* Communicates clearly both verbally and in writing.
* Ability to work under minimal supervision.
* Ability to deal with multiple priorities, tasks and schedules

Desirable skills
* Experience with multi-tiered Unix/Linux systems and environments.
* Exposure to database technologies (Oracle, SQL)
* Work experience in a support role

Experience
* At least 2-years Unix/Linux System Administrator experience. Strong troubleshooting skills in a Unix/Linux environment.
* At least 1 year of programming experience.
* Previous game industry experience highly desirable

Education
* AA/BA/BS degree, technical certification or equivalent.
* 4 years proven experience in Software Engineering or related technical field can be substituted for BS
