Systems/Integration Engineer

 

Job Requirements and Description

 

BS degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, Electrical Engineering or related field from an ABET accredited institution and a minimum of 5 years engineering experience is required.  Thorough understanding of practical government application of system and project engineering principles required.  Solid planning and project management skills are required.  Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required.  Intermediate skills in Microsoft Office applications are required.  Space systems development or operations background desired.  Experience with NASA System Engineering and project planning requirements and standards is highly desired.  Experience with use of risk identification, assessment, and mitigation methodologies such as root source analysis is highly desired.  Experience with opportunity identification and management is highly desired.

 

Other Duties:

 

Assist in the creation and implementation of risk assessment plans and implementation of risk activities for the Crew Launch Vehicle, its elements, and other major programs.  Solicit and compile feedback from major stakeholders and incorporate feedback in associated documents and informational databases.  Facilitate the identification, quantification, and assessment of risks utilizing a systematic process.  Assist with the development of mitigation plans, tracking and risk management.  Provide education on the value and use of risk assessment methodologies.  Participate in all Systems Management functions as part of a larger group to detail and produce the plans and processes for space transportation programs, elements, and projects.  Participate in the timely and effective implementation of such plans in assigned customer areas.
