Job Description:
This position is responsible for utilizing theories and practices to plan and direct project work. Assignments are generally complex. Manages other professionals and administrative staff. Interfaces with others to develop plans and specifications, and to accomplish essential tasks.

The Energy Solutions division of TAC specializes in performance contracting, which offers clients?including educational facilities, cities, counties and hospitals?an efficient and effective means of improving buildings and maintaining facilities. They accomplish this by upgrading aging equipment, reducing maintenance expenses, lowering utility bills and improving building comfort?all backed by a no-risk guarantee. If a customer experiences a shortfall in savings, TAC will write a check for the difference. Accountability and guaranteed savings fuel the success of this division. Within the Energy Solutions division also exists the Abacus Consulting Engineering group, which offers mechanical and electrical design concepts to customers involved in new construction projects.
Abacus is a leading provider of facility engineering and energy solutions and plays a key role in helping clients maximize their facility?s comfort, performance, and efficiency. Their goal is to develop custom solutions that lower operating costs and improve safety. In addition to consulting engineering, Abacus provides an array of performance assurance services designed to ensure facilities continuously operate at optimal efficiency.
As a Senior Electrical Engineer, You Will:
Prepare plans and specifications, and study reports to accomplish project goals and objectives.
Assert technical decision making authority, in conjunction with project manager.
Plan, organize and monitor efforts to execute engineering responsibilities.
Develop and maintain positive client relationships.
Prepare fee proposals in conjunction with company marketing efforts; assist in securing projects; seek opportunities to obtain additional work.
Assist or handle construction administration duties for assigned projects.
Develop plans or direct others to prepare plans in accordance with established graphic conventions and procedures.
Develop specifications and reports.
Perform field work as necessary.
Assist in technical reviews and project checks.
Recruit, hire train, coach, mentor, evaluate and, when necessary, terminate departmental staff
Supervise daily activity of technical and administrative direct reports as necessary.
Other duties may be assigned.
A QUALIFIED INDIVIDUAL SHOULD HAVE:
Education: Four-year degree or eight years of related work experience.
Experience:
At least seven of years relevant work experience.
Professional Engineer license required.
DESIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills including, but not limited to, the ability to influence and persuade internal and external Customers, listen effectively, and solicit input from others.
Intermediate ability to use Microsoft Office programs including but not limited to, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
Excellent organizational skills including, but not limited to, the ability to handle multiple demands and assignments, the ability to prioritize tasks effectively and efficiently, and the ability to manage resource procurement and utilization.
Strong leadership skills including, team leading, employee mentoring and development, and the ability to empower others through delegating responsibility.
Advanced knowledge of applicable engineering discipline(s).
Advanced knowledge of applicable engineering Codes and Standards.
