Technical Service Engineer II

General Description:

 

q  Responsible for providing technical support to worldwide C/customers using: telephone, field visits and the Internet. 

q  Serve as a direct technical link between Centricut and our customers.

q  Troubleshoot complex plasma cutting systems down to the device or component level, applications support, and basic training to customers, both in-house and at their facilities.

q  Document Customer information using a computerized centralized information system.

q  Work on complex product development projects and providing input into designs using field experience.

q  Drive communication improvements to and from C/customers.

q  Provide informative reports back to the business Teams.

q  Mentor Technical Service Engineer I associate(s) by providing training and guidance and inputting into their development plans and their performance feedback reviews.

q  Position requires approximately 25% travel

 

Knowledge & Skill Requirements:

 

q  A minimum of 2-4 years of direct plasma cutting experience is required.

q  Ability to troubleshoot complex plasma cutting systems to board or component level, evaluate process problems, troubleshoot system problems both in the field and on the phone;

q  Must have excellent communications skills, familiarity and comfort with industrial environments, be able to perform and communicate in high stress situations, and work alone.

q  Must possess the ability to perform on-site repairs, utilize schematics and mechanical drawings, and be able to operate a variety of electronic and precision measuring instruments.

q  Must have excellent computer operating skills and keyboard skills to input information while working with a customer on the telephone. Must also be proficient with application software and database skills.

q  Excellent written, oral, and presentation skills required.

q  Ability to mentor and train other engineers.

q  Laser knowledge and experience beneficial, but not required.

 

Educational Requirements:

q  Requires an Associates degree in a technical discipline with 4-7 years of service experience, or equivalent training and work experience (e.g., military training).
