Position Summary
Aero/Performance Specialist in Preliminary (Advanced) Design

Make decisions and recommendations that are recognized as authoritative and have an important impact on extensive engineering activities. Assists the planning, coordination, and performance of design, analysis and liaison engineering supporting the development and production of Gulfstream products and services that met internal and external customer and regulatory requirements. Is a recognized authority providing specialized technical assistance to team members on a daily basis.



Major Duties and Responsibilities
Essential Functions:
1. Demonstrates creativity, foresight, and mature engineering judgment in anticipating and solving complex engineering problems, determining program objectives and requirements, and in developing standards and guides for diverse engineering activities.
2. Responsible for an important segment of the engineering program with extensive and diversified engineering requirements.
3. May be responsible for an entire engineering program with established scope. The overall engineering program contains critical problems, the solution of which requires major technological advances and extensive related development.
4. Conceives and plans investigation of broad areas of importance for which engineering precedents are lacking in areas critical to the overall engineering program. Is consulted extensively by associates and others, with a high degree of reliance placed on the incumbent s scientific interpretations and advice.
5. Actively works to improve daily processes and ensures all work meets customer requirements.
6. Maintains a current and up-to-date knowledge of developments in the field and other related aircraft fields in order to recommend innovations to improve the quality, economy, and effectiveness of the company product.


Prerequisites
Bachelor degree in engineering, a related curriculum, or equivalent combination of appropriate education experience; Advanced degree in engineering, or related curriculum preferred.

Thirteen (13) years engineering experience in the specific technical discipline or minimum of (20) years broad engineering experience with exceptional qualifications in several technical disciplines.


Required Expertise/Skills: Engineering Support

Unique Skill Requirements:
Aircraft Conceptual Deisgn and Vehicle Sizing, Performance Analyses, Knowledge of CFD methods/analyses, Knowledge of Stablity and Control, Wind Tunnel Test Experince, Flight Test Experience

Computer programing skils

Strong written and oral communication skills
